NOTE: If you aren’t sure which OS your Fire TV device is running, just choose the screenshot above that resembles what you see on your TV screen. Generally, newer Fire TV devices will be running Fire OS 7.

Now it’s time to sideload the BANG app with the help of Downloader. What is sideloading you ask? Sideloading is just a short way of saying ‘installing apps on Fire TV without using the official Amazon Appstore.’

Open the Downloader app on your Fire TV device in the My Apps section. You will see a prompt resembling what you see in the screenshot below. Click ALLOW. This will allow the Downloader app to access and save files on your Fire TV device.

Now we will download the BANG Fire TV app. Open the Downloader app if it’s not open already. From the Home screen, select the text input box, and using your Fire TV remote, type in the URL bang.com/btv.apk then click the GO button. Wait for the apk file to download.

Once the file download has been completed, you will be prompted to install the app. Click INSTALL. Wait for the app to install, then click DONE.

After installing the BANG app on your Fire TV device, a prompt like the one below will pop up asking if you want to delete the apk file you just downloaded. The apk file is just an android installer package and can be safely deleted since you have already installed the BANG Fire TV app. Click on the DELETE button.

The sideloading process is now complete! You can return to the Home screen of your Fire TV and get ready to register your device.
